All Saints' Altar Guild members
share their own prayers and have two
services annually which are especially
for the Guild. Above, in preparation
for Ash Wednesday and Lent, the
members gather around the altar, and
in prayer and song, burn the palm
crosses from the year past to create
ashes to be used for the congregation
on Ash Wednesday. On Maundy
Thursday they strip the altar and
church in preparation for Good
Friday.
At All Saints' the altar guild takes pleasure in
arranging the flowers for all Sunday services.
Flowers are grown in our own garden, and
purchased from local growers.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a special
ministry. Composed of both men and
women who share a love of and
reverence for the church as God's
temple and dwelling, these dedicated
people maintain all of the vestments
worn by the clergy and servers. They
maintain the vessels used in the
celebration of the Eucharist and get
the church ready to receive the
congregation.
